Einar Berntsen (born November 20, 1891 in Tønsberg , † February 1, 1965 in Nøtterøy ) was a Norwegian sailor and speed skater .

Einar Berntsen, who for the Kongelig Norsk Seilforening sailed, won in 1920 in Antwerp at the Olympic Games in the 6-meter class after the International Rule of 1907 the bronze medal. He was a crew member of the Stella , the rest of the crew consisted of Trygve Pedersen and skipper Henrik Agersborg . In three races, the Stella managed to win an opening victory, but was then fourth and last twice in a row. The Stella thus had as well as the Belgian Boat Suzy nine total points, it is why a further race between the two yachts came. After a victory for the Stella , it finished the Olympic regatta in third place overall.

Berntsen was also active as a speed skater and took part in the 1912 World Championships , where he finished eighth. For a short time he was a board member of the Norwegian Speed ​​Skating Association.
