Einar Bjoerklund

Einar Bjoerklund (born July 26, 1939 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Bjoerklund (also Björklund) won a national title in 1959 when he won the relay race with his club CK Stefaniterna Stockholm. In this discipline, champions were determined in Sweden from 1946 to 1973. In 1963 he won the championship in road racing before Jupp Ripfel . He started in the International Peace Tour in 1964 in a mixed team, in which drivers from three continents were represented and whose coach was Ian Steel (winner of the 1952 tour ), but retired early from the race. 1967 won the Östgötaloppet , one of the oldest road races in Sweden.
