The Burger BC 08 is a German football club from Burg in the district of Jerichower Land . Home is the stadium at the Flickschupark , which has a capacity of 2500 spectators.

The Burger Ball Game Club was founded in 1908. Until its dissolution in 1945, the club from Saxony-Anhalt could not achieve any notable sporting success. In 1945 the BBC was re-established as SG Sportfreunde Burg . As early as 1948, the Sportfreunde took part in the first Eastern Zone Championship . If the burgers were able to prevail in the qualifying round against the Thuringian representative SG Sömmerda , they were eliminated in the quarter-finals against Meeraner SV .
In 1950 the name was initially changed to ZSG Burg and later to BSG Einheit Burg . In the same year, the Burg unit made it into the GDR league . The club belonged to the second highest division of the GDR for a total of three seasons. In 1953 the burgers had to join the district league together with Adlershof BC . In 1958, Einheit Burg returned to the 2nd GDR League , in which the club was active until the 1962/63 season after relegation in 1960. In the following years, Einheit Burg played without exception in the regional area of the Magdeburg district .
After the reunification, the club founded a syndicate in 1990 and appeared briefly under the name Einheit / Empor Burg . In 1991 the Burger BC 08 was re-established. In terms of sport, the club was unable to return to higher-class football. In 2009 the club was able to inaugurate its newly built sports hall. In 2011/12, Burger BC made it to the state league (7th league) as champions of the state class Saxony-Anhalt season 1, in 2014/15 the burgers took 1st place in the state league Staffel Nord and were promoted to the association league Saxony-Anhalt (6th division). After the 2016/17 season, the club had to relegate to the national league again.
