The Deployment Supply Act (EinsatzVG) is a German article law that aimed to adapt the supply law for soldiers , civil servants and other members of the public service who were injured or wounded during foreign deployments of the Bundeswehr to the special requirements of an assignment abroad.

The law contains the following essential new regulations:

  • Creation of a new institute “Emergency Supply” and a new term “Emergency Accident” in the supply of soldiers and civil servants.
  • The emergency benefits, which are to be granted depending on the status, basically include all services of industrial accident insurance with the following special features:
    • Always granting increased (so-called qualified) accident insurance in the event of operational accidents and a reduction in earning capacity of 50%.
    • Compensation payment in accordance with the Soldiers Supply Act to members of other status groups except professional soldiers and civil servants.
    • Increase in the amounts for the one-time compensation and the one-time accident compensation, in particular for surviving spouses and children entitled to pension for domestic and international accidents.
    • Simplification of the performance regulations for property damage compensation in special cases.

Come into effect

Most of the law came into effect retrospectively on December 1, 2002 . In this way, the legislature wanted to ensure that the soldiers affected or their survivors, who were injured or killed in the helicopter crash on December 21, 2002 in Kabul , can subsequently receive the increased benefits.

Emergency Supply Improvement Act

With the Deployment Supply Improvement Act (EinsatzVVerbG) , various regulations were improved and updated on December 13, 2011, which had previously been introduced by the Deployment Supply Act.
