Fritz Tiedemann (politician)

Fritz Tiedemann (born July 21, 1872 in Berlin , † February 7, 1930 in Erfurt ) was a German politician.

Life

Tiedemann was born in Berlin as the son of a railway official and studied law , after which he settled as a lawyer in Erfurt in 1902. In the First World War Tiedemann was one-year volunteer in the 3rd Thuringian Infantry Regiment. 71 reserve officer turned and climbed up to the end of the war to the captain on the reserve. In Erfurt he became a leading figure in the National Liberal Party , in which he headed, among other things, its youth organization, the Young National Liberal Association . In 1918 he was the founding chairman of the Erfurt German Democratic Party (DDP). From 1920 to 1930 he was President of the Government of the governmental district of Erfurt . He died in Erfurt in 1930.

Since 1922 he was a member of the Academy of Charitable Sciences in Erfurt . His sons Arnold and Ernst Tiedemann ran a resistance group during the Nazi era .
