The Eisarena Ellental is an ice rink in Bietigheim-Bissingen , Baden-Württemberg . It was built in 1980 as a pure ice rink. The opening took place on November 24, 1980. Ever since the SC Bietigheim-Bissingen ice hockey club was founded in 1990, the arena has been the home venue for the Steelers playing in the 2nd national ice hockey league , and the hall is also open to ice skaters .

In the hall, which was one of the smallest in the 2nd Bundesliga, there was space for around 3,300 spectators until 2010, around 2,500 of them in the standing room, where the guest block was also located. Due to fire protection regulations, the total capacity of the ice rink was reduced to 2662 during the summer break of 2010.

On November 17, 2011, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the EgeTrans Arena took place north of the arena , which opened in December 2012 and became the new home ground for the Steelers. The Ellental ice arena was then dismantled into a training ice hall, which will continue to be used for training and games for the young, amateur and professional teams.
