The Wenholthausen railway bridge is a listed building in Wenholthausen , a district of Eslohe in the Hochsauerlandkreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
location
The railway bridge on the disused Finnentrop – Wennemen line crosses the Wenne and the road to Eslohe at an acute angle .
History and architecture
It was built in 1909 as a riveted steel framework on concrete pillars with quarry stone cladding . The girder structure under the carriageway is designed in the middle segment in fish-belly girder construction. This is a type of construction that is characteristic of the construction period, but was rarely used because of the high crossing height required.
