Eisheilig is a dark rock and new German hardness band from Germany.

style

Their early style is mostly referred to as Gothic Metal or Dark Rock . The debut , released in 2001, was often compared to the American formation Type O Negative due to the deep voice of singer Dennis Mikus, the heaviness taken from Doom Metal and other stylistic similarities . The second album, "The Gardens of the Lord", was stylistically distant from its predecessor, the guitar came more into the foreground, the vocals became more multifaceted, more independent. Eisheilig also reoriented themselves on the third album Elysium . The tendency towards a more complex, guitar-heavy sound, which was already evident on the previous album, continued here. The sound was no longer dominated only by calm and heavy songs, but also by faster and heavier song structures for this area, which were noticeably based on Rammstein . Lyrically little changed over the course of the three albums. The metaphorical texts have always played with religious elements without neglecting the reference to current events. The fourth album On the Way to Your World , on the other hand, appeared calmer and more rock-oriented, whereas the fifth album, Imperium, also borrowed from Laibach .

Band history

The band was founded in 1998 by Dennis Mikus (vocals), Till Maiwald (guitar), Niklas Peternek (bass), Dominik Sapia (drums) and Hardy Zenero (guitar). After a demo release, their first album called Eisheilig was released in 2001 via Napalm Records .

In 2003 the second album The Gardens of the Lord was released , again via Napalm Records . Founding member Hardy Zenero (guitar) left the band before the album was recorded due to some serious differences of opinion.

In 2006 Eisheilig changed labels and signed with Drakkar Entertainment . Her third work, Elysium , was then published through this . The album , which differs somewhat from the style that was influenced by its predecessor, was recorded in the Mohrmann studio .

Founding member and bassist Niklas Peternek left the band in March 2007 because the birth of his child was imminent at that time. In July 2007 Markus Vogler was introduced as the new bass player.

On their MySpace page they announced on December 9, 2010 that the band would be on hiatus for an indefinite period.
