Elçin Kürşat-Ahlers

Elçin Kürşat-Ahlers (born August 26, 1949 in Adana , Turkey ) is a German sociologist , author and editor of Turkish origin.

Life

Elçin Kürşat-Ahlers studied in Turkey at the Bosphorus University in Istanbul Economics . She has lived in the Federal Republic of Germany since 1970 . From 1974 to 1990 she taught at business schools, studied social sciences at the University of Hanover from 1984 to 1989 and did her doctorate in 1992 under Peter Gleichmann . From 1990 to 1992 she was a foreigner advisor for the city of Bielefeld and in 1991 she held a teaching position ( labor migration and integration strategies ) at the Vienna University of Economics and Business .

In 1992 Elçin Kürşat-Ahlers became a research assistant at the Institute for Sociology at the Leibniz University in Hanover , where she became a research assistant in 1994 . In 1999 she completed her habilitation there and taught as a private lecturer.
