El Palmar is a town belonging to the southeastern Spanish city of Murcia with 23,278 inhabitants (2011) and an area of 26.04 km². El Palmar is located around 5 km southeast of the city center of Murcia on the Rio Segura and on the MU-30 (Circunvalaciòn Murcia) highway from Murcia to Alcantarilla . Immediately south of El Palmar rises the 1065 meter high Sierra de Carrascoy: El Palmar itself is 67 meters above sea level.
There is also a small settlement on the Spanish Costa de la Luz called El Palmar de Vejer .
The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz (* 2003) comes from El Palmar.
