Elahe Haschemi Yekani is a German English student .

Life

From 1998 to 2004 she studied English and American studies as well as theater studies / cultural communication at the Humboldt University in Berlin . After completing her master's degree in 2004 at the Humboldt University of Berlin ( master's thesis : BODY-TOPIA. Pictures of lesbian bodies in the writings of Monique Wittig and Jeanette Winterson ), she was a research assistant for English studies at the Humboldt Institute for English and American Studies from 2007 to 2012 -University of Berlin. After completing her doctorate in 2009 (summa cum laude) at the Humboldt University in Berlin (supervisors: Eveline Kilian and Stefanie von Schnurbein ), in 2011 she taught as a visiting professor for modern English literature at the Institute for English and American Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin. In 2012 she was the junior professor for British Cultural Studies at the Institute for English and American Studies at the University of Potsdam . From 2012 to 2014 she was a university assistant for English literature and culture at the Institute for English Studies at the University of Innsbruck . From 2014 to 2017 she was junior professor for English literature at the Institute for English and American Studies at the University of Flensburg . Since 2017 she has been Professor of English and American Literature and Culture with a focus on Postcolonial Studies at the Institute for English and American Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

Her research interests are English language novels from its inception to the present day, Black Atlantic literature, post-colonial studies, gender / masculinity studies and queer theory, intersectionality, cultural studies, film and television studies, post-war theater, and pop culture.
