Eldon R. Hansen

Eldon Robert Hansen (* 1927 at Rochester (Washington) ) is an American mathematician who deals with optimization and numerical mathematics (including interval arithmetic ).

Hansen studied at the University of California, Berkeley and received his doctorate in numerical linear algebra (Jacobi methods for eigenvalues ​​of matrices) from Stanford University in 1960 with George E. Forsythe . He worked for Lockheed in Palo Alto and taught at various universities (such as Washington State University ).
