The DSR Foundation was founded in 1919 by Cevi Switzerland and the Blue Cross Romandie. The purpose of the foundation was to prepare meals for soldiers' homes. After the war years, the activities were gradually expanded; For example, restoration companies for large construction sites (railways, dams, tunnels) followed. This was the hour of birth of the company, which from then on focused on community catering, which has adapted and developed over time to the gastronomic changes.

On January 1st, 2015 the company was renamed from DSR to Eldora AG. The share capital of the company Eldora AG is still entirely held by the DSR Foundation. Since the name change, the DSR brand can no longer be found in Swiss community catering.
