Electric Orange is a German rock band from Aachen . In 1992 Dirk Jan Müller founded the band. At the beginning he usually appeared with guest musicians. A permanent line-up came about later. Between 1996 and 1999 Müller and singer Dirk Bittner published the side projects "Bloop" and "Chair5". The recordings for the albums were mostly made in sessions and were later edited in the studio. All albums from 2001 onwards were mastered by Eroc , member of the band Grobschnitt .
Musically, the band picks up on the progressive rock style of the 1970s. For example, she uses the Hammond organ and the Mellotron . Some of the pieces are more than ten minutes long. The band members name Can , Syd Barrett , Brainticket and Nektar as musical role models . Due to the often slow tempo and the music, which is mainly characterized by keyboard and synthesizer, the style is compared to that of Pink Floyd .
