The elephant foot drum ( Chinese  象 脚 鼓 , Pinyin xiàngjiǎogǔ ) is an hourglass-shaped drum of the Dai in the People's Republic of China . It is worn at the waist. It is named after its lower end, which resembles an elephant's foot.

The body is carved from the trunk of the mango tree or the Ceiba tree and covered with cowhide . There are long, medium and short drums. The instrument is also common among the Jingpo , Wa , Lisu , Lahu , Blang , Achang and De'ang as well as the Khmu .

The Dai elephant foot drum dance in Mang in the Chinese province of Yunnan is on the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the People's Republic of China (658 III-61).
