Eleftheria Paliou is a Greek archaeologist .

Career

After completing a BA (1996–2000) in Classical Archeology and Art History at the University of Athens , an MSc (2001–2002) in Archaeological Information Systems at the University of York and a PhD (2004–2008) at the University of Southampton with the dissertation The visual consumption of mural painting in Late Bronze Age Akrotiri (Thera, Greece). A computational approach to visibility analysis in three-dimensional built spaces , she was Junior Research Fellow from 2009 to 2010 and Senior Research Fellow at the Excellence Cluster TOPOI in 2011. From 2011 to 2012 she was a Marie Curie Experienced Researcher on the Radiography of the past project . From 2012 to 2014 she was an Alexander von Humboldt Post-doctoral Fellow at Heidelberg University . From 2014 to 2015 she was DAAD PRIME visiting scholar at the Archaeological GIS Lab at the Institute of Archeology at University College London . The DAAD sponsored her as a PRIME Fellow at Heidelberg University in 2016. Since 2016 she is W2 Professor for Computational Archeology at the Archaeological Institute of the University of Cologne and director of CoDArchLab.
