Elektrolux is a music label from Offenbach am Main , which sells various artists in the music genre Ambient on CDs and records under the “GEM GmbH” (General Electronic Music) .

Companies

The label was founded at the end of 1995 by Alex Azary , the music producer and co-operator of the techno club . The publications concentrate on the areas ambient, downbeat , electro and dub , occasionally influenced by house , techno or drum and bass . Elektrolux became successful after Alex Azary accompanied the nighttime show Space Night on Bavarian Radio with the label's music. The night program Flowmotion followed later on the Hessischer Rundfunk , in which Elektrolux's own music videos were shown.

The numbering of the individual publications is based on the binary system . The CD packaging usually consists of a characteristic 3-sided folding box with two cardboard wings for clamping the CD.

In 2002 the sub-label Mikrolux was created , which is more club- friendly and experimental.

In 2009 the company was renamed Elux . The releases are no longer named according to the binary scheme, but numbered in ascending order.
