Electrical engineer (modular apprenticeship)
The electrical engineer has been a training occupation in Austria since July 1, 2010. The apprenticeship period is 3.5 or 4 years.

- Basic module (2 years)
- Main module (1.5 years)
- Electrical and building technology
- Energy Technology
- Plant and operating technology
- Automation and process control technology
- Special module (0.5 years)
- Building control technology
- Building technology service
- Security system technology
- Renewable energy
- Network and communication technology
- Railway electronics
- Railway safety technology
- Railway vehicle technology
- Rail transport technology
- Railway vehicle maintenance technology
- Railway operating technology
The modules cannot be combined at will.
