properties
The 'Elena' variety is suitable as a table variety and cake plum . The ripeness is from late September to mid-October. The 'Elena' variety has large, oval, dark blue fruits with a high sugar content , the stone of which is easy to remove. However, in cold weather the solubility can be impaired. The “pulp” is sweet and sour, yellow to yellow-green, firm and juicy.
The fruit is prone to rainfall and bursts relatively quickly just before ripening. Hairline cracks on the handle can lead to a wilted neck . 'Elena' is not very susceptible to disease, especially against Sharka . The robust tree brings high yields in warm locations and reaches heights of up to 4.5 meters. Suitable documents are 'St. Julien A ', 655/2 and' Fereley '.
