Elena Altieri

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elena Altieri (actually Elena Capucci ; born July 7, 1910 in Stresa , † May 1, 1997 in Nice ) was an Italian actress .

Life

Altieri, whose mother is English, made her screen debut shortly after her twentieth birthday. At the end of the 1930s, with her blond, tall, slim mannequin appearance, she was one of the hopes of Italian film, but was only able to deliver on these hopes in a few works. In addition to Amedeo Nazzari, she was the fiancée from a wealthy background in Scarpe Großes (1940). During the war, partly due to insufficient role offers, partly due to lack of interest in the characters offered, the engagements for leading roles became less and less, so that Altieri played numerous supporting roles.

Even after the war she played routine roles as cold-hearted and haughty aristocrats for important directors such as Vittorio De Sica , Jean Renoir and Mario Mattòli . After doing some theater work alongside Luigi Cimara and Andreina Paul , she ended her artistic career in the late 1950s.
