Elenita Santos

Elenita Santos ( Gilén Nazir Cabalén ; born April 14, 1933 ) is a Dominican singer.

The daughter of Palestinian immigrants began training in 1946 at the Academia de Canto of La Voz Domicana with Carlos Crespo , Vladi Silva , Eugenio Pasta , José Dolores Cerón and Rafael Sánchez Cestero . In 1947 she made her debut in the show Tardes Tropicales with the title Atardecer de amor .

1955 Santos appeared on the Cuban radio station CMQ in Havana. Two years later she made her first recordings with Mi noche fatal by Bienvenido Fabián and Compadre Pedro Juan by Luis Alberti , a little later she recorded the titles Besarte and Ritmo salve . In Puerto Rico the LPs Piensa en mí y Besarte were made with the orchestra of Bienvenido Fabían as well as Aquella noche de abril and Está sellado with the Super Orquesta San José under the direction of Papa Molina , further recordings were made in Mexico ( Un telegrama) and the USA.
