Eli Fara

Eli Fara (born October 21, 1967 in Drenova ) is an Albanian singer. She is one of the most famous interpreters of traditional Tuscan folk music in her home region of Korça .

life and career

Eli Fara has been singing since her youth and was a soloist in the school choir. Her musical career received through participation in the folk music festival of Gjirokastra a big boost in the 1988th After 1990 she performed mainly outside Albania, for example in Macedonia and later, after the end of the Kosovo war, increasingly in Kosovo . Furthermore, she often gives concerts abroad with an Albanian diaspora, such as in Germany , Switzerland , Italy and Greece .

Music genre

The music style of their home region is similar to the Rembetiko in neighboring Greece , although the Albanian elements are decisive. Her repertoire also includes serenades and other urban songs.
