Elia ben Moses Abba Delmedigo also known as Helias Cretensis (born 1460 in Candia ; died 1497 there ) was a Jewish religious philosopher .

The Ashkenazi Delmedigo family emigrated from Germany to Crete .
Delmedigo was friends with Pico della Mirandola . His main work is Bechinat ha-Dat ("Trial of Faith").
