Elina Kalendareva

Elina Kalendareva (* in Tashkent , Uzbekistan ) is an Uzbek violinist .

Life

Elina Kalendareva was born into a family of musicians with classical musicians. At the age of seven she began her training as a violinist with Nathan Mendelssohn at the Uspensky School in Tashkent, a music high school for musically gifted children that is affiliated with the Tashkent Conservatory . She made her debut with the Uzbekistan Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of twelve and had numerous other appearances with this orchestra during her youth. For further training, she went to Igor Bezrodny at the Moscow Conservatory for seven years , where she graduated with a Master of Music , but then went on to study. As a member of the Moscow Conservatory Quintet , she recorded works by Sergei Ivanovich Taneyev and Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka for the Le Chant du Monde label . As a soloist, she recorded violin concerts with the Moscow Ars Viva Chamber Orchestra for All-Union Radio in Moscow and for Uzbek TV and radio.

Kalendareva has lived in the United States since 1994. Since then she has performed as a soloist with the Ascending Artists Recital Series and with the Liederkranz Foundation Orchestra in New York . She also played at festivals in Europe and the USA. Kalendareva played with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra . Since 2002 she has played with the Philadelphia Orchestra under Christoph Eschenbach .
