Elisabeth Albertine von Anhalt-Bernburg (born March 31, 1693 in Bernburg ; † July 7, 1774 in Arnstadt ) from the house of the Askanians was a princess of Anhalt-Bernburg and, by marriage, princess of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen .

Life

Elisabeth Albertine was the eldest child of Prince Karl Friedrich von Anhalt-Bernburg (1668–1721) from his first marriage to Sophie Albertine (1672–1708), daughter of Count Georg Friedrich zu Solms-Sonnenwalde .

She married Count Günther XLIII in Bernburg on October 2, 1712 . von Schwarzburg-Sondershausen (1678–1740) (later Prince Günther I of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen). The marriage described as happy by contemporary witnesses remained childless. Between 1729 and 1734 the Princely Palace in Arnstadt was built for Elisabeth Albertine as a widow's residence. Elisabeth Albertine tried to establish a second court in Arnstadt during the Prince's lifetime. In a long legal battle, Günther's library came into the possession of his widow after Günther's death, and she passed it on to her brother Viktor Friedrich .
