Elisabeth Altmann , b. Walenciak (born October 12, 1943 in Immenstadt ) is a German politician (Greens).

Professional background

She studied to become a teacher at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg from 1965 to 1968 and then worked as a teacher until 1994. In 2003 she received her doctorate at the University of Bremen with a thesis on Germany's foreign cultural policy. She completed advanced training as a non-medical practitioner psychotherapy and NLP and has been running a group practice for psychological counseling in Nuremberg since 2007 .

Elisabeth Altmann became a member of the Greens in 1982; From 1984 to 1990 she was district councilor in the district of Nürnberger Land , and from 1992 to 1994 district chairwoman of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Middle Franconia.

She was a member of the German Bundestag from November 10, 1994 to October 26, 1998 (one electoral term) . She was elected from the state list of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen (Greens) party in Bavaria . In the 2005 federal election she ran for the Left Party.PDS in the Roth constituency . Since December 2007 she has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen again.
