Elisabeth Turolt

Elisabeth Turolt (born September 1, 1902 in Zuckmantel , Austrian Silesia , † October 7, 1966 ) was an Austrian sculptor.

Elisabeth Turolt (nee Grohmann) grew up in Styria, originally self-taught, later also through private lessons with Norbertine Bresslern-Roth in Graz (1915-1918) and with Franz Cizek and Karl Sterrer at the Academy in Vienna. Turolt was banned from working in 1938, after which she worked as a goldsmith. From 1950 she created a number of sculptures, mainly for newly built residential complexes in Linz and Vienna. Turolt was awarded a gold medal at the Xth Triennale in Milan in 1954.

Elisabeth Turolt was buried at the Vienna Central Cemetery in an honorary grave dedicated to the City of Vienna.
