Franz Čižek

Franz Čižek (born June 12, 1865 in Leitmeritz ( Austrian Empire ); died December 17, 1946 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter, designer and art teacher.

Life

Cizek studied from 1885 to 1895 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Franz Rumpler and Josef Mathias Trenkwald . From 1897 to 1903 he taught drawing at the Schottenfelder Realschule and at his own art school. From 1903 he taught at the Vienna School of Applied Arts . Cizek became internationally known through his youth art classes, whose exhibitions were also shown in England, the USA, South Africa and India from the 1920s.
