Elisabeth of Bavaria (1329–1402)
Elisabeth of Bavaria (* 1329 ; † August 2, 1402 in Stuttgart ) was mistress of Verona and countess of Württemberg .
Elisabeth was the eldest daughter of Emperor Ludwig IV from his marriage to Margaret of Holland . On November 22nd 1350 she married Cangrande II. Della Scala from the Scaliger family . Cangrande II had been lord of Verona since the death of his uncle Alberto II della Scala on September 13, 1352. He fell victim to an assassination attempt by his brother Cansignorio della Scala on December 14, 1359 . The marriage remained childless.
In 1362 Elisabeth married Ulrich von Württemberg , the son and designated successor of Count Eberhard II. From this marriage the future Count Eberhard III left. emerged. Ulrich died on August 23, 1388 in the Battle of Döffingen before he could take over the government in Württemberg.
