Elita Kuzma (* 1964 in Riga ) is a Latvian diplomat .

Life

She studied economics at the University of Latvia . She later entered the diplomatic service. She became Director and Deputy State Secretary in the Political Directorate of the Latvian Foreign Ministry. On September 14, 2000, she became Latvian Ambassador to Austria with secondary accreditations in Liechtenstein , Switzerland , Slovakia , Slovenia and Hungary . In 2005 she moved to Sweden as an ambassador .

She later represented her country as ambassador to Italy . From 2012 to 2013 she represented Latvia at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome. There were also secondary accreditations in Albania , Kuwait , Malta and San Marino . In August 2013 she was accredited as Latvian Ambassador to Germany based in the Latvian Embassy in Berlin . She held the office until 2017. Then she returned to Latvia and took on the role of Head of Protocol at the Latvian Foreign Ministry. In 2019 she became Latvian Ambassador to the Holy See based in Riga. On January 8, 2020, she was also accredited as an ambassador to the Order of Malta .
