biography

Life

Schneider is the daughter of a Jewish father and an Indian specialist lawyer. She spent her formative years on a Chippewa - Indian Reservation with her two older brothers. Her father was a math and theater teacher at the School of Arts High School in Rochester, New York , where she graduated second best. She also participated in a drama program at Northwestern University's National High School Institute and studied world art and culture at UCLA .

Instead of Mary Kay Bergman , who committed suicide in 1999 , she succeeded in becoming the main female voice actress in the animated television series South Park . This was a position she held until 2003 when she turned her back on the series in response to the show's producers' refusal to grant her a union contract.
