Elizabeth Devine

Elizabeth Devine (* 1961 as Elizabeth Kornblum ) is an American forensic scientist . She advised the producers of the television series CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators and CSI: Miami ( she also worked as a screenwriter for the Miami spin-off ). This is what she became known for.

Work as a forensic scientist

In 1985, Devine left the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department . A year later she trained in forensics , during which she worked for crime scene security in Los Angeles . Devine collaborated with Janet Reno on the publication of the book "Crime Scene Investigation: A Guide for Law Enforcement," which provides exclusive insights into the world of forensics. She became a supervising criminalist and co-overseer of a DNA unit . She was also trained in crime scene reconstruction , manslaughter, and sex crimes .

Work for television

Devine worked as a consultant for the crime scene in movies and series. She started working for the television series CSI: Tracking down the perpetrators . First as a technical consultant, later as a scriptwriter and co- executive producer . Devine was nominated, along with Ann Donahue, for the Writers Guild of America Award (For the CSI episode "United in the Blood"). Devine wrote scripts for all of the CSI series, CSI: Tracking Down the Criminals , CSI: NY and CSI: Miami . She currently works as a co-executive producer for CSI: Miami .

Work as a teacher

Devine is also currently working as a Crime Scene Investigation teacher at La Canada High School . There she gives courses for both older and younger people. There you learn how to recognize evidence and correctly bring it to court . Also through the legal legal system.

Devine received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles . She received a Master's of Science degree in forensics from California State University, Los Angeles .

Private life

Elizabeth married Michael Devine in 1992 and divorced in 2000. She has 3 children: Austin (* 1994 ), Katherine (* 1995 ) and Rachel (* 1997 ).
