Elke Djan is a former German luge athlete . Towards the end of the 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s, she was one of the best female luge athletes in West Germany.

Elke Djan started for the RC Berchtesgaden . In 1975 she was one of the first luge athletes to be accepted as a student of the sports boarding school at the CJD Christophorus Schools Berchtesgaden . She was successful at junior European championships. In 1977 she won silver in Igls behind Andrea Fendt , in 1979 in Krynica-Zdrój bronze behind Bettina Schmidt and Martina Günl , in 1980 she was 17th Djan started in the very first season that was held in the Luge World Cup , and in the second ever World Cup Race in Igls in a German triple victory behind Andrea Fendt and second in front of Regina König . In the following season she finished second behind Angelika Schafferer in Winterberg . In 1980 and 1981 she won the title at the German championships. At the European Luge Championships in 1982 on the Winterberg bobsleigh run , she was fifth.
