Elke Herrmann (lawyer)

Elke Herrmann (born March 20, 1947 in Hamburg ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

From 1967 she studied law at the University of Hamburg (1972 first state examination in law ). From 1973 she was a research assistant at the University of Hamburg. After her second state examination in 1976, she became a research assistant at the University of Hamburg in the same year . After receiving her doctorate in 1978 in Hamburg with Hans Hermann Seiler and in 1985 habilitation there with Hans Hermann Seiler, she became a private lecturer there . In 1985 she was a professor at the Free University of Berlin . In 1986 she became a judge at the Hamburg Regional Court . In 1989 she became a professor in Siegen . From 1990 to 1992 she was professor (C3) for business law in Hamburg. Since 1992 she has been a professor at the University of Siegen for civil law, labor law and commercial and corporate law.

Her main research interests are foundations of civil law; Law of obligations, property law; German civil law and European law influences and basic structures of labor law.
