Elke Plöger
Elke Plöger , née Elke Schilling , (* 1944 ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 1994 to 1998 she was State Secretary for Women's Policy in the State of Saxony-Anhalt .
Life
Elke Plöger grew up in the German Democratic Republic and, after graduating from school, attended the Technical University of Dresden and the Humboldt University of Berlin , where she earned the title of qualified mathematician . She then worked for 22 years in various data centers in ministries, GDR companies, in the health sector and in agriculture. After the political change in the GDR, she became a self-employed insurance specialist.
In 1992 Elke Plöger went into politics at Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . From 1994 to 1998 she was the first Green State Secretary for Women's Policy in Saxony-Anhalt.
After she did not get one of the first places on the state electoral list at the state delegates' conference of her party in Magdeburg in 1997 , she left the event. A little later she complained about her "execution by the grassroots".
After Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen left the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt in 1998, Elke Plöger lost the office of State Secretary in the state government. From then on she worked as a freelance consultant. In May 2001, Elke Plöger unsuccessfully competed as an independent mayor in Magdeburg. From 1995 to 2004 she was the East Chairwoman of the Women's Bridge East-West .
She has lived in Berlin under her maiden name Schilling since 2010 and has been the chairwoman of the Senior Citizens' Representation Center since 2011.
