Ella White

Ella Weiß (born January 2, 1910 in Frankenthal ; † January 23, 1995 in Ludwigshafen ) was a German teacher and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Weiß attended elementary school and grammar school and graduated from high school in 1929. From 1929 to 1937 she studied in Heidelberg, Munich, Freiburg and Würzburg and was awarded a Dr. phil is doing his doctorate. In 1939 she completed the preparatory service for the teaching post in Munich and after the state examination became a study assessor in Ludwigshafen. In 1941 she was appointed as a student councilor and in 1965 as a senior student councilor. Since 1968 she worked at the Geschwister-Scholl-Schule in Ludwigshafen-Mundenheim and retired in 1972.

politics

In 1945/46, Weiß was a co-founder of the SPD in Frankenthal. As a " duty woman " she was a member of the SPD Palatinate district executive.

For the SPD she was a member of the Advisory State Assembly in 1946/47 . She was a member of the constitutional committee and the cultural policy committee. As one of the two women in the constitutional committee (the other was Helene Rothländer ), she worked on the drafting of the constitution for Rhineland-Palatinate , but then ultimately rejected it with her parliamentary group. From 1947 to 1951 she was a member of the first Landtag of Rhineland-Palatinate for the Palatinate electoral district . She was a member of the Food and Supply Committee, Main Committee, Budget and Finance Committee, and Cultural Policy Committee. On January 27, 1951, she resigned from the SPD.
