Helene Rothländer

Helene Rothländer (born December 23, 1890 in Cologne , † July 1, 1976 in Koblenz ) was a German teacher and politician ( center , CDU ).

Life

Helene Rothländer attended the Koblenz teacher training institute. After passing the teacher examination, she worked as a teacher in Herdorf from 1905 to 1910 and then worked in the same position at a primary school in Koblenz. In addition, she was involved in church women's work and in 1925 became chairwoman of the Koblenz Association of Catholic German Teachers . She joined the Center Party, was a city ​​councilor in Koblenz from 1924 to 1933 and a member of the Prussian state parliament from 1932 to 1933 .

In November 1933 Rothländer was dismissed from school because of "political unreliability". From 1938 to 1939 she took over the management of a sanatorium of the Catholic Teachers Association in Bad Pyrmont and then worked as a trainer for Catholic women. After the assassination attempt on July 20, 1944 , she was imprisoned from August to October of the same year as part of the " Operation Grid ".

Rothländer had been the principal at the Schenkendorf School in Koblenz since 1945. In 1946 she moved to the Koblenz Higher Presidium as a member of the government council , in 1947 she was appointed to the presidential government of Rhineland-Hesse-Nassau and worked as a government director in the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Culture until she retired in 1955 . There she was responsible for the elementary school system. As a co-founder of the CDP , a forerunner of the CDU, she was a member of the Advisory State Assembly from 1946 to 1947 and was then a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Parliament until 1951 . In addition, she was a member of the Koblenz City Council since 1946.
