Ellen Marx (artist)
Ellen Marx (* 1939 in Saarbrücken ) is a German-French artist and book author who deals with the topic of color in her work. She has lived and worked mostly near Paris since 1962 .
Life
From 1957 to 1962, Ellen Marx studied art in the fields of basic teaching and graphics with Professors Oskar Holweck and Robert Sessler at the Saar College of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken.
The first two years after her studies, she worked with various advertising agencies as well as the Swiss graphic designer Gérard Ifert . In 1964, Ellen Marx restored an old farmhouse in the country 40 kilometers from Paris . This is where her studio was built, in which she still lives and works today.
In 1983 the Center Pompidou in Paris dedicated a solo exhibition to her. Further solo and group exhibitions followed in Europe, including the exhibition Concrete Art in Germany today in 1981 in the Saarland Museum - Modern Gallery.
From 1983 to 1995, Ellen Marx received several invitations and lectures at universities of the fine arts, including Paris, Cambrai , Strasbourg , Lyon , Marseille , Oslo and the Helsinki University of Art and Design, as well as for AIC color In France and the German Color Center in Berlin .
Ellen Marx has been creating pictures with the computer since 2000 .
Ellen Marx has a daughter.
