Elli Blarr

Elli Blarr (* in Berlin-Friedenau ) was the first female taxi driver in Germany.

The end of the golden 1920s , on January 29, 1929 Elli Blarr received from the Road Administration in Berlin the concession to drive taxicabs . The Berlin taxi entrepreneur owned several cars and also drove an Opel herself.

The Elli Blarr race for three to 14 year old horses on the harness racing track in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld is named after her.
