Elliot Bunney

Elliot Bunney ( Elliot John Bunney ; born December 11, 1966 in Edinburgh ) is a former British sprinter .

At the Junior European Championships in 1985 in Cottbus, Bunney won the 100-meter run in 10.38 s before the Hungarian Endre Havas and his compatriot John Regis . Together, Bunney and Regis won gold with the British team in the 4 x 100 meter relay . The following year, starting for Scotland , he finished fifth in 10.37 s at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh over 100 m and won bronze in 40.41 s with the Scottish relay, third behind the teams from Canada and England. Four weeks later at the European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart , the British relay was formed from three Englishmen and one Scotsman. In the line-up of Bunney, Daley Thompson , Mike McFarlane and Linford Christie , she took bronze in 38.71 seconds behind the teams from the Soviet Union and the GDR.

At the Olympic Games in Seoul Bunney was again the starting runner of the British quartet, which won silver in 38.28 seconds behind the Soviet relay in the line-up of Bunney, Regis, McFarlane and Christie. Bunney was still active for a few years and acted as the starting runner of the Scottish relay at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland in 1990 (6th place) and in Victoria in 1994 (5th place).

Elliot Bunneys is 1.82 m tall and weighed 80 kg when he was active.
