Elly Barth

Elly Barth (born January 3, 1891 as Elly Baum in Cologne , † after 1954) was a German pianist .

Life

She was the daughter of August Baum, the director of studies, from Uerdingen and his wife Frieda née Ullrich. After finishing school, she completed a music degree, attended the conservatory in Krefeld and took private lessons with Otto Neitzel in Cologne. As a pianist she celebrated successes with the Hamburg trio , to which her husband, the cellist Paul Barth , and Ottomar Borwitzky (* 1890) belonged. Together they went on extensive concert tours in Germany and to Bulgaria, Romania and Scandinavia.

She lived in Hamburg 26, Slevekingsallee 27. During the Second World War, she moved with her family to Lüneburg in 1943 , where she still lived in 1954 as a pianist at Lüner Strasse 14.

On April 6, 1921, Elly Baum married the cellist Paul Barth.
