Elsa Sedlmeyer , also Elsa Sedelmayer , Elsa Sedlmayr , Elsa Sedlmayer and Elsa Kutschera , ( June 1, 1867 in Salzwedel - January 20, 1946 in Vienna ) was a German theater actress .

Life

Sedlmeyer was enthusiastic about the theater from a young age and, on the spur of the moment, wrote from Wiesbaden, where her father Max Sedlmayr was Kapellmeister, to the management of the Meininger Hoftheater, asking them to test their talent. She received approval and after a short test talk she was also engaged for the Thuringian court stage (inaugural role "Perdita"). She worked there successfully for a year and a half, mostly in the field of heroines and sentimental lovers, but married Viktor Kutschera in 1900 and left the stage entirely.

She is buried next to her husband in the Vienna Central Cemetery (group 30D, row 1, number 25) in the grave dedicated to her honor .

Her daughter was the actress Tilly Kutschera (1890–1920).
