Elsbeth Heise

Elsbeth Heise (born February 11, 1892 in Stendal , † May 22, 1977 in Hanover ) was a German nurse.

Life

During the Second World War, Heise was superior at the University Hospital of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . After the end of the war, together with Erna von Abendroth , she prepared the establishment of the German Sisters' Community, of which she was 1st chairman from 1948 to 1957. In 1949 she was the head of the delegation at the World Federation Congress in Stockholm.

In 2003, the Elsbeth Heise Care Prize, named after her, was awarded for the first time , recognizing services in the care sector.
