Else Möckel
Else Möckel (born December 18, 1901 in Berlin , † 1976 in Berlin) was a German painter and porcelain designer.
Life
Else Möckel was born in Berlin in 1901 as the second daughter of the violin maker Otto Möckel . Initially employed in her father's violin-making workshop, she studied with Ernst Böhm at the United State Schools for Free and Applied Arts in Berlin.
Since 1927, she created numerous porcelain paintings for the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur KPM in collaboration with the porcelain designers Trude Petri , Siegmund Schütz and Gerhard Gollwitzer - initially as a volunteer, later until 1945 as a designer . It had a decisive influence on floral porcelain painting in Germany in the 1930s. In addition, her work includes plant studies, drawings, watercolors and prints. Porcelains designed by her were exhibited at the 1937 World Exhibition in Paris .
