Elske Hildebrandt

Elske Hildebrandt (born February 13, 1974 in Berlin-Mitte , GDR ) is a German politician ( SPD ). In the state elections in Brandenburg in 2019 , she received a direct mandate in the Brandenburg state parliament in the Märkisch-Oderland II constituency .

Life

Elske Hildebrandt is a daughter of the SPD politician Regine Hildebrandt and the publisher Jörg Hildebrandt . After graduating from high school, she studied English, Greek and classical archeology as well as prehistory and early history at the Berlin Humboldt University from 1993 with a master’s degree. Until 2006 she worked as a research assistant at the university. After that she was employed by a company for archaeological excavations until 2012. Since then she has been active in various educational and consulting projects.

Hildebrandt has been a member of the SPD since 2016. In the local elections in Brandenburg in 2019 , she was given a seat in the municipal council of Woltersdorf (near Berlin) . Since the state elections in 2019, she has been a member of the state parliament and spokeswoman for women's and gender equality policy, early childhood education, science and research policy of the SPD parliamentary group.
