Elvis Naçi

Elvis Naçi (born April 7, 1977 in Tirana ) is an Albanian imam . He is head of the Tabakëve Mosque in Tirana, operated by the Muslim Community of Albania , and founder and president of the non-profit and cultural foundation Firdeus .

Naçi is very active in running a Facebook page , which had over 800,000 subscribers at the end of 2019, and regularly posts videos of his Chutbas (Friday sermons ) on his YouTube channel , which at the time had over 172,000 subscribers. Due to his great popularity among the Muslims of Albania , but also among other Muslim Albanians , he became known nationally and is regularly invited to Albanian talk shows .

Elvis Naçi is also one of the most violent critics of radical Islamism in Albania. He accused the Albanian state of doing too little against imams with radical sermon content. A security service is employed in his own mosque and reports suspicious mosque visitors to the local police.
