The Tabakëve Mosque ( Albanian  Xhamia e Tabakëve ; German Gerber Mosque ) is a mosque in the Albanian capital Tirana . It is one of the most important historical buildings in the capital. The mosque is not far from the city river Lana, about 115 meters from the Ottoman stone arch bridge Ura e Tabakëve in the Ali Demi district . It is named after the former Tabakëve tanners ' quarter , a former craftsmen and traders' quarter southeast of Skanderbeg-Platz on the then little-inhabited southern bank of the Lana. Elvis Naçi is the headmaster and imam of the Tabakëve Mosque.

The Tabakëve Mosque was built around the 18th century. The minaret is on the southwest corner of the building .

On October 16, 1927, lightning struck the main building during a thunderstorm, as a result of which one soldier died and eleven other people were injured. After that, the mosque was rebuilt and reopened in 1933. Under the communist regime , the mosque was closed in 1976 and converted into a storage room. After the democratic change in 1990 it was reopened, later the minaret was rebuilt.

In addition to the tanner mosque in Tirana, there was also a Tabakëve mosque in Vlora until it was destroyed under communism .
