Elvis Peeters (2012)

Elvis Peeters , pseudonym of Jos Verlooy , (born 1957 in Grimbergen ) is a Flemish rock musician, performer and writer. His wife Nicole Van Bael is involved as an author on several of his books.

Life

Jos Verlooy trained as a social worker in Schaarbeck . He lives in Kessel .

Peeters founded the rock music group Aroma di Amore in 1982 . He also appears as a singer with the groups De Legende , Peeters en Angst and Bange konijnen .

His first volume of short stories was published in 1992, his first novel in 1998. Peeters was nominated for the Zilveren Griffel children's book prize in 2009 for his book Meneer Papier en zijn meisje . His novel Dinsdag was nominated for the Gouden Uil and Libris Literatuur Prijs literary prizes in 2012 and was shortlisted for the AKO Literatuurprijs .
