Elvyra Baltutytė

Elvyra Baltutytė (born December 6, 1954 ) is a Lithuanian administrative lawyer, judge in the Constitutional Court of Lithuania .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1972, Baltutytė graduated from 1972 to 1977 with a degree in law at the Vilniaus universitetas . From 1977 to 1995 she worked as an administrative lawyer at the Lithuanian Ministry of Social Affairs . In 1997 she continued her education in Lausanne (Switzerland) and in October 2000 at Lund University in Sweden. From 1998 to 1999 she took part in the program for lecturers in European law organized by the Carl Duisberg Society .

From 1995 to 2003, Baltutytė was a legal advisor at the Center for Human Rights of Lithuania and from 2003 to 2005 Seimas - Ombudsman . From 2005 to 2014 she was the representative of the Lithuanian government at the European Court of Human Rights . From 1998 to 2012, Baltutytė taught at the Chair of International Law at the Mykolas Romer University in Vilnius . She has been a judge at the Constitutional Court of Lithuania since March 20, 2014 . She was proposed as a candidate by Dalia Grybauskaitė , the President of Lithuania.

Baltutytė is single.
