Elzo Aloísio Coelho (born January 22, 1961 in Machado ), alias Elzo is a former Brazilian soccer player and today's television commentator.

Career as a player

Elzo had 87 appearances in the Campeonato Brasileiro , most of them with Atlético Mineiro . He later played for Benfica Lisbon. He was with this club in the final of the European Cup , where they lost to PSV Eindhoven on penalties. In the 1988/89 season he was Portuguese champion. Between March and June 1986 he played seven times for his country's national team. He was part of the Selecao squad at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico , where he was part of the starting line-up in each of his team's five games alongside Sócrates and Alemão in midfield.
